New York hosted this year’s BID International Quality Convention, where professionals and business leaders from around the world gathered to recognize excellence and success. In particular, the convention celebrated quality in business and operations. Award winners demonstrated commitment to the criteria of the QC100 TQM Model, which helps bolster customer satisfaction and cost efficiency across all areas of operation.

–Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), from United Arab Emirates. With the mission of providing electricity and water to the prosperous city of Dubai, this important public service has become an international example of excellence and quality, by achieving its goals and providing top notch solutions, in one of the most arid and difficult climates in the world. Understanding the vital need to develop clean energy sources, DEWA has committed to provide Dubai with a renewable source of energy: the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. This massive ongoing project started in 2012, and is currently reaching its third phase, achieving a reduction of 214,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year, with an estimated power capacity of 1,000MW for the end of 2020.
–Green Aruba Conference, from Aruba. This organization was created as a platform to showcase Aruba’s progress in sustainable energy, especially in the infraestructural transition towards an industrial capacity fueled by green energies. The annual conferences share valuable information, knowledge, experiences and best practices on renewable energies to other countries, institutions and experts from all over the world. This remarkable focus is a prime example of the Quality Culture philosophy based on continuous improvement and permanent exchange of knowledge between industry and academy, for the benefit of the entire society.
–Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, from Nigeria. LASUTH is Lagos prime example of high quality education facility, that also provides a much needed health care service for its population. Established in 1955 by the Western Regional government for the people of Ikeja and its environment, LASUTH is now a full-fledged general hospital. Using cutting edge technology and highlydeveloped human resources, trained in accordance with the continuous improvement philosophy of Quality Culture for the entire West Africa region.
–KBZ Bank – KANBAWZA BANK Ltd. – Myanmar and IKBZ Insurance Co., Ltd. from Myanmar. The Kanbawza (KBZ) Group of Companies is one of the largest privately-owned diversified group of companies in Myanmar, but also is one of the most socially active and socially responsible groups of companies in the entire region.
